Ramakrishna Sista
February 1, 2012
One evening after volunteering at SV Temple (around 2 years ago), my wife came to me and told me about Medha Jananam. Although I feel I don't believe in God, I always liked abstract concepts and philosophical concepts. We attended the introduction class which I really liked. However, it took almost 2 years for me to make some time and spare 5 weekends. But I feel that these were one of the best 5 weekends in the recent times.

Coming to Medhajananam, before I go into more detail, I really was awestruck with the slides, the flow of content and the ease with which the students can intertwine different topics. Keeping ~300 slides in such an order is not an easy task.

The best topics I personally liked were the concept of TAT, Panchakosas and the frame work of AUM. I could definitely say that these topics really triggered my intellect/thought process. I was so amazed after the last 2 weeks of classes that I have been trying to apply these concepts in each and every aspect of my daily life. All the concepts were so easy to understand because of the way they were put together.

Apart from these, I am really indebted to Krishna garu for introducing me to a variety of topics such as Ashtanga Yoga, the difference between a muni and rushi, the number of upanishads, shastras etc.,

Although I know that I am fascinated by philosophical concepts, my Yellow overtook and I never spared a lot of time. But I should say, even if I tried to spare some time and find books, I might not have found any book that gives a concise summary with amazing adaptation to present day's life like Medha Jananam did. Moving on, I also like the concept of three gods and the way our life is always in a cycle between these notions. This was so true and so evident.

I should again say that the slides were just amazing. Making a 50 slide presentation and keeping the flow itself is super tough. But when you are talking about 300 slide deck and multi-day course work is such a herculean task. Krishna garu, you can count on me for inputs on the write up, presentations, videos and for that matter, any help.

Thanks a lot Krishna garu.

Finally, Although krishna garu recommended that family members should not attend together, we still felt it has been good for both of us to attend together. Although we feel we are made for each other and we are the best couple ever :-),I am sure this will help us to understand each other even more.
